Today I attempted to create the property "Number of Associated Conversations" in the Ticket Object, but while attempting to create the property I was alerted it already existed as a "System Property."
We've all seen this before - but this is a bit strange - since normally the error shown when you try to re-create a default HubSpot property is:
"Sorry, you already have a property called "name". Please select a different label."
... and of course, I searched all over and could not find any trace of a property "Number of Associated Conversations".
So I had a Google or two, and the only mention of the exact term "System Property" in the documentation is in the legacy api docs.
My questions are:
What are "System Properties"?
How are they different than default HS properties?
How can one view/use them?

The Mysterious System Property ErrorA Regular Property Already Exists Error
@BérangèreL and @ERTCZisty I checked a few accounts and also can't access the property via settings or any ticket records, I thought maybe it would be accessible via a custom report (cross object with contacts, tickets, conversations), but that also yielded no results:
My only guess is that it could be a reserved property - one that HubSpot has identified as a system property that will be needed for future functionality not currently available.

Thanks for your patience, and thanks a lot for your help @Jnix284🙂
I checked internally and a system property is essentially a hidden HubSpot property.
Basically, we cannot choose a property label that is the same as one of these 'hidden' properties since these would be conflicting and could cause issues in the system.
Thank you and have a fantastic day!

Great job on your research and thanks for the screenshot 🙂
Just to clarify, how are you creating the property? Via API? Or via HubSpot interface directly?
To reply to your questions, system properties are properties that are already present in the system and that you cannot actually interact with.
Have you checked if this "Number of Associated Conversations" property has been archived, deleted or hidden maybe?
I also wanted to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation: Hi @MBERARD, @Jnix284 and @SNigam have you ever seen this error message about system property to help @ERTCZisty, please? Do you have any insights to share with @ERTCZisty, please?
Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂
Thank you very much and have a lovely day!
Best, Bérangère

Thank you very much for spending the time to dig into my little curiosity!
I haven't been able to find any reference either - so I think your idea of it being reserved for a future update or internal code item makes the most sense.
