Creating a Task for a new Deal that was created from an Old Deal

For context:

  • We have a deal that is about to expire and we want to notify the sales rep to renew the deal
  • In Workflows, I have an automation that auto creates a New Deal..
  • The trigger is when the Expiry Date of the Old Date reaches a certain time, create a New Deal
  • Then create a task to follow up in which I used the "Create Task" action
  • The problem is that the task can only be create towards the Old Deal. I want the sales rep to go to the New Deal to follow up and create tasks.

Any ideas?

Creating a Task for a new Deal that was created from an Old Deal

Hello MarwanDajani,

You can indeed create the task using a new workflow that you associate with this new deal.

You also have other alternatives that do not require you to create a new deal:
- You can assign the task and update the pipeline phase or closing date of the old deal and set a 'high' priority so that your sales rep have visibility on the deals to be reactivated in their pipelines.

- You can create a new phase in your pipeline for deals that need to be reactivated urgently with a task creation and a phase change managed by workflow.

I hope this helped you !
Have a nice day,

Sarah

Creating a Task for a new Deal that was created from an Old Deal

As I posted this, I figured I can create a new workflow that triggers based off the stage of the new deal.
