Change task/text field directly in report - is that possible?

SOLVE

I've searched around but have not been able to find if there's any kind of field/ property, that allows the team to immediately update a text field when looking at a report? For us it doesn't matter what field type this is.

Context: revenue operations has an overview of outstanding deals. During the weekly revenue meeting we want to immediately discuss and update outstanding actions. E.g. "Customer X has let us know the Head of Dept is on holiday, so <this to update straight into report without first going into all deals separately> <our field called next step> 'Jane Doe to call Head of Dept on Jan 2 after their holiday to remind them of signature'".

Hopefully this makes sense, it's very tedious to have to wait on Hubspot to load into each and very deal separately, especially when the overview is right there. Thanks a lot!

Hi @LULUDEDE,

Reports are generally view-only, there is no option for editing directly in-line there, unfortunately. You would have to create filtered views (which allow for inline editing) or edit the records themselves.

Yes @LULUDEDE , I know how those revenue operations team review meetings about pending deals can be.

We typically recommend creating an operational view for this purpose and it seems @karstenkoehler  is suggesting the same.

You can have a prepared deal view where you can edit the status of each deal inline within the predefined fields or properties. It's common to review the "next steps" property for each deal, ensuring that property is complete and updated. You can add this as a column to fill in the operational view.

Additionally, you can link this operational view to a dashboard if you want to make it easily accessible. This way, you can connect the dahsboard to the operational view with just one click.
