RevOps Initiatives Management Custom Object

resolver

I've seen severla examples of folks using custom objects and pipelines to manage customer projects, and am looking at using the same concept to build out a RevOps Initiatives Management object. I started building out a prototype and wanted to see if anyone else has done this.

The primary goals of this is to

  1. show the volume of incoming requests I am fielding
  2. have a consolidated view of all requests and intiatives across the organization (all brands and departments/teams)
  3. Work with leadership to prioritize intiatives based on business value (I have a weighted rubik for this in a spreadsheet).
  4. Report on activity for my role

I'm currently bombarded with "ASAP" projects from all areas of the organization and need to get this under control. My reasons for building it in Hubspot versus Microsoft Teams or a PM tool is that Hubspot is the bulk of the RevOps tech stack and where I live and work each day. Plus the reporting tools are better than Asana and Teams and others.

The framework I am building is:

  1. A form that internal team members use to submit RevOps requests such as marketing intiatives, sales support, new service development, etc. The form includes all information necessary to "clarify the ask." Upon submission they are able to book a meeting with me to discuss further.
  2. Intial pipeline for reviewing requests and determining if they are set as go/no go or parking lot
  3. Active intiatives pipelines that will track status and tasks for each intitiative
  4. A dashboard that will integrate the existing sales and marketing reports with custom reports (such as activity and status) for intiatives so I can show a total view of my role and what's happening.

Any feedback and resources are appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @SConnor ,

This all sounds very much possible and easy enough to do with custom objects & pipelines. Although it might be helpful to understand what specifically you are struggling with so I can give more specific guidance.

Intuitively it feels like you could combine the two pipelines you've suggested. Would make the process of moving 'requests' between the various stages much smoother.

Apart from that let me know specifically what you're kind of guidance you're looking for and I'm happy to add my insight.

Cheers,

Kim

@SConnor I think this is a good approach to using HubSpot for managing RevOps requests, I'm curious how you're managing the visibility of the custom object and associated assets with your team.

Are those requesting the projects also able to access via HubSpot? It'd be interesting to know how this level of transparency helps/hurts your efforts.

For the weighted rubrik you have in a spreadsheet, you could look at creating custom object properties for each item and then creating a calculated value to represent the score.

Those values could then be used in various reports to visually represent the data.

Would love to know how this goes as you progress forward, keep us updated!
