My use case is that I have a sales deal that closes and triggers the creation of an onboarding deal. However, I may want to access information from the original sales deal that cannot be kept on the onboarding deal (like deal owner on sales deal is X person, deal owner on onboarding deal is Y person, I want to know both OR line items are on sales deal, they are not brought over via workflow so I'd like to be able to look them up in an automated way). Would like the sales Deal ID to be captured on the onboarding deal.

Hi @courtney_hickey ! 

IF I understood correctly you'd like to transfer the ID or the owner to the onboarding deal?

You could create a field called Original Deal record ID and Original Sales owner and transfer that field to onboarding deal but not display the field to a specific group of users.

Are you referring to triggering a workflow with an existing Deal ID or adding a deal ID (which triggered the creation of other deals) to a deal property so you can identify associations?
