Average Response time reporting

When I check the average response time on Monday for a specific date range it will give me as an exampole an average response time of 2.0 hours.  But if I check it a day later it shows and avergae reponse time of 6 hours for the exact same time frame.  Do you know what would cause this kind of change within a 24 hour period?

@MWhite61 can you share the criteria and filters you're using for the report? is it a single object report or a custom report? The more details and screenshots you can share, the better I can help diagnose what's happening.
