Average Deal Size Visualization

SOLVE

Hello, everyone! 😊

I need a little help building a report. I’m looking to create something similar to the chart below, but I’d like to include two bars that compare total revenue against our million-dollar goal. It would be great to see both the total income and the percentage towards that goal.

If anyone has tips or can guide me on how to set this up, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance! 📊💡

@msshey_ here's how you'd start from scratch:

  1. Create a custom report with the primary data source deals (Menu > Reporting > Create report > Custom report builder > Choose my own data sources > Primary data source: Deals > Next)
  2. Select the gauge chart type
  3. Drag and drop "Amount in company currency" into the Value area

  4. Under chart settings, specify the Max (your yearly goal), and, if you'd like bands

  5. Under filters, specify that the deal close date should be this year and that deals must be closed won

@msshey_ glad I can help 🙂

% are not an option in the gauge chart type, no. This would be better tracked through sales goals which show percentages: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-sales-goals

Hi @msshey_,

Outside of the too right corner of your screenshot, you should see the option to customise the report - which should take you to the custom report builder. In there, you should see a chart type 'gauge'. This let's you specify a goal and the 'needle' will point out where you are against this goal.

If you're not taken to the custom report builder, you'd have to create report from scratch. Let me know if that's the case and if you'd like step by step instructions.

Best regards!

Hi Karsten! This is amazing! I’ve been working on this by myself, and your instructions made it a breeze! Thank you so much! I made a few tweaks since they only want to see the Closed deal amount now. Is there a way to display the percentage towards that goal? For example, if we’ve made $101,000, that would show as 10% of our million-dollar target.

Thanks so much, Karsten! We’ll definitely follow your lead and set up sales goals for better tracking! I have another question—I've created a report that shows the monthly revenue breakdown. We want to clearly see how much revenue was generated each month so we can track our progress and compare year-over-year. However, when I toggle the revenue goal, it only shows $0.

The goals of this report is to:
1. Provide a clear breakdown of revenue generated from our deals each month.
2. Show how much revenue has been generated compared to our overall goal.

Currently, the revenue goal of $0 is inaccurate, and I’d like to set the correct amount. This way, we can quickly see how much was generated this month versus last month to track our progress.

Anothing thing, I can't figure out how to rename the report for this one 😞

Thanks again and apologies im throwing so many questions!

@msshey_ of course, happy to help!

Out of the box, unfortunately, HubSpot reports aren't good at monthly revenue reporting – unless you're already creating one deal per month per subscription.

If that's not the case, recurring revenue reporting is (natively) currently only possible through a Sales or Service Hub Enterprise subscription and by following these steps: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/deals/track-recurring-revenue-with-revenue-analytics
