Analytics Suite: How to use filters for specific parameters

SOLVE

Hi all,

the Analytics Suite for Marketing is currently in Beta - I have no idea if there is a way to switch back to the old report.

Because what I am missing in the new report re the filters.

In "Web traffic analysis" --> "UTM parameters" I can see a report based on UTM campaign, UTM source etc.

But I CAN'T filter for a dedicated value, let's say I want to see the results for a specific UTM source.

There is a filter which only allows to filter for analytics views.

I know the old report could filter.

Does anyone have a solution?

How do you report easiest on a specific utm paramater?

Thanks! 😊

Analytics Suite: How to use filters for specific parameters

Hi @Britta_Agel_ I'm not sure why the beta isn't available for you to opt out of, I also couldn't find it so I could opt into it for our demo account, but I can access it from another account (it's possible this is a private unlisted beta or one that's automatically rolled out to specific portals).

I can confirm that the previous reporting available for UTM was under Traffic and it wasn't possible to filter by a specific parameter, you could either drilldown into the sessions or use analytics views.

For the beta, if you click on the total number of sessions from the summary, it opens a breakdown by campaign. And if you're on the UTM Source tab, it allows you to click to see individual sources as you're looking for

But the individual sources also listed under the graph for the sources report so you can see a breakout of each parameter:

When you add the sources report to a dashboard, it shows the breakout - it just doesn't let you filter for a specific source using a "source" filter, to do this, you would need to create an Analytics View, which is a filter option you can access here:

Either by using the "Analytics view" filter and choosing the view, or clicking "Add filter" and choosing the view - not sure why this is duplicated like this.

To create an Analytics view:

1 - settings > Tracking & Analytics > Tracking Code:

2 - open Analytics view tab:

3 - below Sources Views, there is a a Custom Analytics View section, Click Add View (or Add Another View):

4 - Name your view and choose "URL path contains"

5 - check the box "containts all of the following"

Jnix284_2-1718969615086.png

6 - type the parameters you want to include in the view:

7 - click apply filter after all parameters are added, then save.

8 - repeat for any campaign, source, and/or medium parameters you want to use as a breakout in reporting. You can also create a combination to show a campaign with a specific source, or a source with a specific medium, etc.

I hope this helps you get the report you need, happy to help with further questions!

Thank you for your reply! 😊

The analytics suite seems not to be in the Beta list when I navigate as described in the article:

Hi @Britta_Agel_,

Thank you for asking the Community!

You should have an option to leave the Beta.

Here is an article about this "Opt your HubSpot account into a beta feature":

"After you've enrolled in the beta, you can leave the beta at any time by clicking Leave beta. You can also click Edit under the name of the beta to change whether all users in your account are enrolled or not."

I'd like to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation: Hi @Jnix284, @Phil_Vallender and @CHawkins do you have suggestions to help @Britta_Agel_ report on UTM parameters, please?

Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂

Thank you so much and have a great day!

Best,
Bérangère
