Sometimes after we close a deal as Closed Won, we have to adjust the Deal value for one reason or another. Just looking for best practice on this and if anyone sees an issue with doing this.
We do track the change via a Microsoft BI integration but wondering if there is a better practice?
It would be interesting to hear what you are trying to solve here apart from just editing the deal value. You would typically just update the amount or the line items when the details are sealed.
Assuming you are trying to track and compare the initial value to the final value, you could use a workflow to set the "initial value" to a separate property the first time an amount is set.
Alternatively if you use line items, you can compare the deal price to your default price to that product, and keep track of variance that way.
Great question @SComeau! I want to invite some subject matter experts to see if they have any suggestions.
Hey @HFisher7 or @louischausse, do you have any tips or best practices when adjusting the Deal Value after a Deal is Closed-Won?
Best,
Kennedy
