Zoominfo Integration - companies with no associated contacts

Hi All

I’m investigating why I have a lot of company records in my HubSpot CRM that does not have an associated contact. When looking at the property history, I can see the “source” is Zoominfo by DiscoverOrg. It’s weird because we don’t have any workflow from the Zoominfo side that pushes companies (we do have workflows that push contacts and associated companies to our CRM).

So by this property history, it seems like ZoomInfo is pushing those companies (with no associated contacts) - but when going to Zoominfo I can’t see any history of records being pushed (maybe I’m looking in the wrong place?).

I would love to get help if someone has ever stumbled on that kind of issue in data hygiene.

Thanks

Eran

Hello @Eran_Rickman , thank you for posting in our Community!

Looking more at the integration here this information is coming from the Zoominfo side. Since HubSpot does not have access to the integration I would recommend reaching out to Zoominfo support here so they are able to see why this was set up and turn this option off.

I hope this information helps,

Pam

Did you find an answer to this one? I’m seeing the same thing.

Hi @Eran_Rickman ,

If I understand your problem correctly, you are ending up with a surplus of company records without any accumulated contacts after continued exporting.

I have encountered this issue before. In my experience, this occurs when exporting the contact record before the company record. For some reason, depending on your setup, HubSpot may be creating the company records based on unique domains from your contact pool rather than off the ZoomInfo contact tag. To Minimize this issue, I would recommend exporting the company records before the contact records; this simple fix allows HubSpot an easier time matching up contacts with companies. For any outliers, I would recommend tagging your cohort in ZoomInfo and then looking through the unassociated company records (denoted by “--”) for contact names. Then, double-check your tagged list for where the contact should’ve landed and then merge company records accordingly in HubSpot.

Another great resource, if you’re having issues with the platform, is our ZoomInfo SalesOS User Group on LinkedIn. We have videos on best practices for exporting and tagging contact records to your CRM. You can start discussions with other users in similar circumstances.
