Hi team,

I’m creating a workflow to send emails to people who sign up for our interest list. I’m wondering what’s the difference between using form submission under ‘Event occur’ and ‘Filter criteria ss met’ as an enrollment trigger in automation workflows?

Thank you,

Sukie

Hi @SukieLi,

These two articles explain the difference:

> **[Set your workflow enrollment triggers](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/set-your-workflow-enrollment-triggers)**
>
> Learn how to set workflow enrollment triggers to automatically enroll records in your workflow when they meet specific trigger criteria.

> **[Set event enrollment triggers](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/set-event-enrollment-triggers)**
>
> Learn more about setting event enrollment triggers for your workflows.

If after reading you find yourself saying that this is still ambiguous, I would agree. When in doubt, you’re not going wrong with the filter criteria option.

Best regards!
