Hi, I am currently working on cleaning our CRM data and building parent-child company relationships. Could someone please confirm whether, in reports, it is possible to view a total sum of deals from all - parent and children companies? now I see that I can either pick up parent-to-child or child-to-parrent association , but maybe there is a work around?
You have a couple of options here. If you have Data Hub Pro or Enterprise, you could create a custom dataset which would allow you to use those values in reports.
You could also use Rollup properties to bring the total revenue from the child companies and then create a report that puts child company and parent company revenue on the same report. If you use a pivot table, you could have a column for Child Company Revenue, Parent Company Revenue and if you include totals and subtotals, you’d have your number.
From there you could also add the deals that would make up that revenue as an additional source if you wanted the breakdown vs just the total revenue numbers. From my experience, the pivot tables are a bit finnicky when you add the deal object and the association layer. I personally would prefer to view them as separate reports on a dashboard. A) KPIs with the amounts, then B) the breakdown report with the deals/names/amounts/etc.
Using the rollup property, you’ll also have this as a property to reference on actual records or filters vs only having a number in the report.
