We have an ID field in our instance based on our product, and it would be great if an automation step was able to remove contacts from the workflow, based on if this specific field already exists either in our database anywhere, or just within the workflow.

Hi @SDrayton8, just to make sure that I understand, you want to remove the contact from the Workflow? Or you want to remove the record altogether because it is a duplicate record?

Would unenrollment triggers be a solution this problem? I would think if you wanted to unenroll them from the Workflow, you’d be able to use exist/doesn’t exist for that ID field to remove the record from the Workflow.

If you are looking to deduplicate, Insycle could potentially help with this. Full disclosure, I work for them. But you can use any field as a potential matching field to find duplicates, including the product ID field that you mentioned. And Insycle integrates with Workflows, so you could check records as duplicates immediately after they are created and before other processes begin.

Hi @RBozeman - it would be just unenrolling them from the workflow. I can’t work out how to unenroll based on ‘doesn’t exist elsewhere in HubSpot’, only ‘Is known’.

Gotcha, makes sense @SDrayton8. So you want it to detect the duplicate and unenroll from the workflow?

I think to do that you’ll need to just dedupe the database, as I think you are right, there is no way to do that in the workflow.
