Hi HubSpot,

I want to create a workflow with if/then branch based on the form submission response. (Eg: if form response to Q1 is Yes, then send email, if No, then set property value.) From what i can see, workflow is only limited to whether form is filled up but not the response itself. Is there any workaround to this?

Thanks

Hi @DGanasan

The form submission is the trigger. For the if/then branch you would simply select the contact property, i.e. if “Q1 = Yes” then do xyz, if not do nothing or something else.

For example, I have this form:

 ![Screenshot 2023-07-26 at 10.09.07.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/2X/5/516dbd852fda3973d012b7db9fea3bef66b7d338.png)

One of the questions is “what best describes you” so I can segment form submissions.

In a workflow I can use the form submission event as a trigger, and then check which value the “what best describes you” property has, see example below.

I hope that helps.

Hi Frank, thanks for your response. I wasnt aware that a contact property is needed. Also a random ques, is it possible for the contact to go down several branch at once if value is met? Using your example, if ‘i work in food production’ & ‘I own a coffee shop’ is checked yes, will it cause any error?

Hi @DGanasan

The contact property holds the value that is submitted by the form submission.

In my example, due to [the property field type](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/account/property-field-types-in-hubspot) of the property, a contact can only ever have one value.

You can go down several branches, but the would need to change the workflow setup slightly, by having an if/then branch for each value and connect them via the “go to action” option in workflows, would looks something like that:

Hope that helps.
