With Gmail Integration, Every Email Received is added to the CRM

Hi there,

With Gmail Integration, every email received is added to the CRM, even if the contact doesn’t exist in the CRM. So a new contact will be created if that contact doesn’t exist.

How do I change it so that only contacts I choose to log/track are added to the CRM?

Thanks

It’s tough to be selective with incoming emails, but you have a few options:

1. You could disconnect the integration. Then, when you get an incoming email that you want to log in your CRM, forward it to the CRM by sending it to: yourhubspotportalnumber@forward.hubspot.com - you can find this address by clicking the Settings gear, then, on the left side menu click Sales > Log Emails in CRM

2. Never log. This is good for nuisance spam or emails from suppliers rather than customers or potential clients. Click Settings (gear icon, top right). In the left side menu click Sales > Log Emails in CRM. Click Add email or domain to add emails or domains that will never be logged to your CRM.

For outgoing emails:

In Gmail, change the HubSpot Integrations Settings to only log the emails you choose. Click the circle HubSpot in your Gmail account and click Log and Track Settings. Toggle the log and track buttons to turn these off. Now that these settings are turned off, when composing an email in Gmail that you want to log and track, you must check the log and track boxes to do this.

I hope this helps.
