# Windows tray app stopped working

Tray app worked last week. but now has login failure (looks like bad address). Per below, is trying to authenticate against app-.hubspot.com, but believe that is invalid sub-domain. Not sure where that setting is stored.

We did a bit of research internally and found a case with similar behaviour where reinstalling HubSpot for Windows has solved the problem.

Could you please follow these exact steps to reinstall?

- Go to Start Menu on Windows \> Search for _Add and remove programs_ \> Search for _HubSpot for Windows \> Uninstall._
- Next, remove the remnants by following the [steps here.](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email-tracking/how-do-i-uninstall-hubspot-sales#uninstall-remnants)
- Access [this page](https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/#download-section) and click on “Download” under Evergreen Bootstrapper.
- [Re-download the Windows Tray app](https://signals-outlook-builds.s3.amazonaws.com/trayapp/setup.exe).

If this won’t help, please send me the following information in a direct message via my Community profile:

- your account ID and email address,
- a screenshot of the tray app version: Go to the Start menu, search “Add/remove programs” \> Locate _HubSpot for Windows_ in list \> Take a screenshot noting the number under “Version”.
- Collect debug logs ([instructions here](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email-tracking/troubleshoot-the-hubspot-sales-outlook-desktop-add-in#access-my-debug-logs-from-your-pc-s-start-menu)).

I’m glad to hear that reinstalling helped, thank you for the update!

Our product team believes that the error could be caused by the missing [webview2](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/) control, which you now installed in one of the steps I shared in my first reply.

You shouldn’t experience any issues going forward as the newest version of the control & the tray app is installed now, but please don’t hesitate to reach out via DM (with the information I requested above) if the issue persists. Thank you!
