Windows 10 - Outlook - broken, links and CTAs by amending a [.....hubspotlinks.com] to it.

Hi,
In the test mail to outlook, I can see the extra links like in below image

If this is a tracking code, I need the tracking to continue, but I do need to remove this amended string, I need the UI of the email template to be clean, other than some other links come and brake my links and buttons.
Thanks
Nidheesh

Hi @Nidheesh! Welcome to the Community-- happy to have you here

Can you clarify if this is a Marketing email and if the template is custom? If so, could you share a screenshot of the code and/or the template as it is displayed in the HubSpot editor?

This context may give us a hint as to why we see those links.

Best,
Kennedy

Hi @kennedyp ,

I aint coded this template I use. I took it from hubspot default templates available, I’m not sure anyone uploaded that too, sorry for that.

But yes I can share a editor section screenshot for you better understanding.

If anymore info required, please ask.

Thank you,

Nidheesh

Hi @Nidheesh,

It sounds like this is a setting on your end, specifically “Show field codes instead of their values” in Outlook, see here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/hyperlinks-displaying-as-hyperlink/72d5009d-0f44-44d2-baf8-4dc66181a073

A first way to check this is to have any other person view the email in their Outlook.

Since field codes are easily accidentally enabled via ALT+F9, that’s what I assume is happening here.

Best regards

Hi @karstenkoehler ,

I tried using Alt+F9 but that not worked.

And also I tried to sent the test mail to my colleuges, they also see this problem.

I’m not sure! but if I try to set Outlook as anyway and this works, I can’t tell every one to do the same set up. So I think I need a solution from HubSpot.

Thank you,

Nidheesh

@Nidheesh can you please confirm that:

  • You reviewed the settings (not just pressed the shortcut)
  • Resent the email
  • Checked again

Have you sent the email to someone outside of your company to rule out it’s specific to your configuration?

@karstenkoehler I only tried using the shortcut, yes, I resend the mail and confirmed that, the issue still exists.

The link you given got the instruction from 2017, in that after 6th point the mentioned options are not available. If you could help me in that for my outlook version(Office16), that might work.

May be out of my org there won’t be a issue like this, but the scenario is that I need to confirm it work properly inside org or externally.

Thank you

Nidheesh
