I am newish to HubSpot, but come from extensive Marketo use and am continually frustrated things I can’t do - like track ungated file downloads. Am I missing something? I saw the Gary workaround and that doesn’t apply to me, 2/3 of the content I have out is ungated on purpose, but I would like to see what kind of downloads we’re getting on our pieces. Is there a way to find this? What about the button clicks on the landing page? How can I quantify this?

While that might work for sales docs that have been shared with specifically-created links, this does not help at all when trying to track documents uploaded into the Marketing Hub and living on a landing page (via a button). This seems basic.
@JDaugherty8 did you ever find a solutuion to this issue? We are also trying to track ungated downloads that are pdfs living in HS, but cannot seem to.
I agree — this is a genuine challenge, and it would be incredibly useful if HubSpot could develop a tool to track clicks and file downloads, along with generating detailed analytics. I’d love to be able to see how many times a file uploaded to HubSpot has been viewed over a period, without having to use tools like bit.ly.

I’d like to share 2 workarounds I found for you. I understand that it is not exactly what you are looking for but it may help in some ways:
- You could use a CTA to track files, as suggested by my colleague Diana on this thread “Tracking file usage”
- You could use a tracking URL, as indicated by @JenBergren on this post “How to see how many times a file was opened”
And for new feature suggestions, I’d recommend first to search and check if this idea is already present on our Ideas Forum here. If you find a similar idea, give it an upvote and share your unique use case in the comments.
