Most of my website pages are not indexed by Google. How can I solve this issue? And how can I index backlinks to my website quickly? I have created backlinks, but they are not indexed by Google.
Hi @onlinevws,
Could you confirm you’ve checked your Google Search Console?
Go to Search Console > Pages report. It’ll bucket unindexed pages into reasons: “Crawled – currently not indexed,” “Discovered – currently not indexed,” “Duplicate content,” “Blocked by robots.txt,” etc. This should tell you what exactly to do.
Keep in mind that Google doesn’t index backlinks per se, it indexes the page the backlink lives on. If that page isn’t indexed, the link inside it doesn’t count for much yet.
Also, you can’t force Google to crawl a specific page you don’t own. So “indexing backlinks fast” really means getting the pages that contain your backlinks crawled and indexed.
Best regards
Ok thanks.
Hi @onlinevws, For indexing, start with Google Search Console: submit your sitemap, then use “Request Indexing” on key pages individually if they’re still not showing up after a few days. Common blockers to check first: a stray “noindex” tag, pages accidentally blocked in robots.txt, thin/duplicate content Google doesn’t think is worth indexing, or a site that’s too new/low authority for Google to crawl deeply yet.
For backlinks specifically, Google doesn’t index links on their own, it indexes the pages containing them, so if your backlinks are on low quality or unindexed sites themselves, that’s likely why they’re not counting. Focus on getting backlinks from sites that are already well indexed and have decent authority, rather than volume alone
Hi @onlinevws and welcome, we are so glad you are here!
Thanks for asking the HubSpot Community! To add to what’s already been shared (thank you!), usually, you cannot force Google to index backlinks quickly. If the linking pages themselves are weak, new, orphaned, blocked, duplicated, or low-value, Google may ignore them.
Here are the best next steps you can take:
- Audit 10 to 20 affected URLs in Google Search Console by issue type.
- Check each page’s
Performance > Optimizationview for crawl errors. - Review
robots.txt, page meta robots, redirects, and canonicals. - Eliminate duplicate parameterized URLs and multilingual variants that shouldn’t be crawled.
- Re-submit the cleaned canonical URLs in Google Search Console.
- For backlinks, verify the linking pages are indexable on the source sites; if not, they likely won’t count.
I hope this helps!
