What's your #1 email design tip?

The idea of email design might make you think you need a web designer to help you create and design beautiful emails. And if you have someone to help you create the design, that’s great, but if you don’t, you aren’t out of luck. What’s your 1 email design tip to better engage your audience?

Keep things short and sweet, and make sure your call to action is clearly highlighted.

Keep it clean and simple. But most importantly, keep the copy engaging and personal (if possible).

The HubSpot email templates are very clean looking and can be adapted to most any need. I don’t find that using a designer is necessary.

Keep it simple, envolve your audience and create value

Keep it short, simple and sweet. Straight to the point

Have it be concise; everything about the design should drive your customers to a specific goal.

Keep the CTA button from getting too far down the email

keeping things organized, clear, and engaging for your audience.

Understand the goal of the email. Keep it clear and simple, remembering to persist with the brand language to your audience. Remember, you don’t need to cram everything you want to say into your email. Entice the reader to further engage with your other content areas such as website, social media, and blogs.

Interesting.

Have a goal in mind, write your email copy to be a consistent experience, and make sure you are providing valuable content with call to action at the bottom of the page.

Make your email Personalized addressing the reader as you not saying “you all”

You should clearly communicate your message and create a consistent experience.

Consistency is key in all great information design, and email is no exception. Branding is a big part of this, but so is how things are organised within the email. Make information predicatable in layout. This doesn’t mean it has to be the same with every email, but it should mean that the user knows where to easily find the next piece of information without having to think about it.

THis can be done as simply as ‘left-aligning’ all of your text, or it could be a little fancier by creating a predicatable pattern of text placement, with a bit of suggestive colour use. If you always signal to the reader where to go next, it’ll give the email flow, and therefore more likely to keep them engaged.

My number one tip is to make it where it’s readable on all devices AND that it can stand alone without images.

Keep your emails detailed, but not too detailed short to the point.

Give email a personal token and add logo ata the start of the email so that readers need to know with whom they are engaging with.

Use relevent and new graphics- don’t use images over and over again!
