Find something that someone else posted in your industry and create a response. Disagree with them. Or build on their ideas to offer more. The only thing more frustrating than a blank page is the first page (or in the case the first piece of content). Having something to react to can get your juices flowing.
Exactly @shirlelylee! What works today might be different tomorrow, next week, or next month. Technology is moving so rapidly that it’s critical to understand what’s working, what’s not, and why.
Nothing is more true than that; get out more than often and speak to an extra/additional person everyday’ remember, nothing happens until someone sells something to some person - and nothing will happen till you start interacting with someone.
Being a newbie myself, I would say that we should be curious and humble. Keep an open mind to new ideas especially ideas that we are not comfortable with. We must let ideas grow on us and see the possibilities they bring.
In this information age, it is easy to find issues relevant to your chosen industry sector to write about, and always focus on creating your own original content as far as possible. Its not that difficult. Once you have identified the group of issues, start by jotting down your own analysis and opinions, and you will soon have a list of points to get you started on drafting your own article. This course provides many good ideas on how you can get the best out of all your own original articles once you have defined a strategy that works for you.
Indeed as per another member’s comment / advice - aspiring marketers should be in tune with current affairs, as well as a localised (if targeted at a specific population) culture and sensitivities in addition to being aware to possibly other areas such as trending topics or even pop culture.
much work is needed to be done at the information gathering stage for content creation to be able to capture the intended audience.
I would have to add: Having someone review your content before publishing. Not just for grammar or sentence fluency, but for quality and content! Even before sending my work to an editor, I like having someone review my work to get a second opinion on the content. Even if the feedback includes having to revise certain parts, I’m always grateful for the feedback if it means improving the qaulity!
