What's the Biggest Challenge You Faced When First Setting Up HubSpot?

Hello HubSpot Community,

I’m curious to hear about the experiences of people who have recently started using HubSpot or have gone through the onboarding process in the past.

When you first set up HubSpot, what was the biggest challenge you faced?

Was it organizing your CRM data, setting up pipelines, creating workflows, understanding automation, or getting your team to adopt the platform effectively?

In my work with Avenue Billing Services, I’ve learned that even the best systems require a clear setup process and user adoption strategy to deliver long term value. That’s why I find onboarding experiences especially interesting.

Looking back, what is one thing you wish you had known before implementing HubSpot?

Any lessons, mistakes, or best practices that could help new users get started more efficiently?

I’d love to learn from the community’s real world experiences.

One of the biggest challenges for me was organizing the CRM data properly before importing it. I also found that taking time to understand pipelines and automation early on saved a lot of rework later. My advice is to start with a simple setup and expand gradually as your team becomes comfortable with the platform. A little planning at the beginning can make the onboarding process much smoother.
