# What's api to update CRM object?

Using below api I can create a new object instance but not sure how to update. Tried using PUT/PATCH but that doesn’t work.

You will use patch. This is from [the docs](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/crm/crm-custom-objects?_ga=2.258178563.809749231.1609180719-1273358196.1598626193)

**PATCH** `/crm/v3/objects/{objectType}/{objectId}`

Or, assuming that **p99688696** is the object type id and **car** is the object a more drawn out example would be

`https://api.hubapi.com/crm/v3/objects/p99688696/car?hapikey=YOUR_HUBSPOT_API_KEY​`
