Creating segmentation basis on demographic, geographic locations etc help in finding the people who shares same interest or need that the company is working on
I am just learning. Hoping to get a job soon so as to create a segmentation for my new employer
While I work on the customer service side rather than managing the email platform directly, I see firsthand how critical segmentation is for healthcare communication. In our company, our audience includes patients, medical providers, or health plan members, and they all need completely different types of information. Because healthcare requires high trust, ensuring emails are highly relevant to the recipient’s specific situation is the best way to drive engagement while maintaining compliance.
I haven’t personally executed an email A/B test from start to finish in a live system yet
I don’t have corporate experience with segmentation yet, but I have built and analyzed segments for a personal project (or course). I practiced dividing a sample list into active and inactive subscribers to understand how targeted messaging improves open rates.
I have created segments based on separating my contacts into smaller groups
I work in the digital marketing and website design industry, where I help small businesses improve their online presence through websites, SEO, and digital advertising. Since our audience includes businesses with different goals and levels of digital experience, email segmentation has been essential for increasing engagement.
Some of the most effective segments we’ve created include:
-
New leads: Sent welcome emails, service overviews, and educational content to build trust.
-
Existing clients: Shared website maintenance tips, SEO updates, and recommendations for additional services.
-
Industry-based segments: Customized emails for real estate, retail, and local service businesses with examples relevant to their industries.
-
Engagement-based segments: Sent exclusive offers to highly engaged subscribers while re-engaging inactive contacts with personalized follow-up emails and valuable resources.
By sending more relevant content instead of the same message to everyone, we achieved higher open rates, better click-through rates, and stronger customer engagement. Email segmentation has helped us deliver the right message to the right audience at the right time.
This version is appropriate for a HubSpot course submission or community discussion.
I’ve created audience segments for short practice exercises—always based on buyer personas derived from market research—segmenting by location, preferences, purchasing power, and gender; it was all for a clothing brand.
I am in the Architecture, Acoustics and Construction Industry. I can envision myself creating segments based on my target audience. Churches, residentials, corporate spaces, and other professionals such as architects, engineers and Quantity Surveyors.
will try out soon
I’ve created segments in the real estate industry to send out campaigns based on individuals who have executed an agreement for a certain property in order to access confidential documents/information. I’ve also used it in the automotive industry where I segmented individuals that owned a certain car type for a tire promotion campaign.
Hi gudmorning everyone
I have created segments based on lifecycle stage (new leads vs. active customers) and email engagement levels (contacts who opened or clicked an email in the last 30 days vs. inactive subscribers). Targeting active contacts with tailored content significantly improved our open and click-through rates
lifecycle stage segmenting by past purchase or download topic allowed us to send relevent follow up instead of generic blasts. which greatly increased click through rates
in my intern, i make newsletter or email for my company. The type of email is for sports event like UCL, Laliga, Premier League and others. I usually sent this email for any different segments, the segments tailored to the type of event and the goal is for we can maintaining relationships with customers.
This is basic but segmenting by customers who are already regularly buying our products and customers who are new (or buy little)
I have created segments in my business, where I segmented the clients that like tourism and the ones that like global educational opportunities
