When HubSpot isn’t seamlessly integrated with your accounting systems (like Quickbooks, NetSuite, or Xero), the “Lead-to-Cash” journey quickly turns into a manual nightmare. Teams end up drowning in double data entry, chasing missing invoices, or dealing with mismatched revenue reports.
What’s your biggest challenge when integrating HubSpot with your accounting system?
Duplicate or inaccurate data
Manual data entry delays
Broken/delayed invoicing
Lack of real-time visibility
Lets discuss specific integration challenges in the comments below!
For me, it’s usually duplicate or inconsistent data. It doesn’t seem like a huge issue at first, but once records stop matching between HubSpot and your accounting system, it creates a chain reaction. Someone ends up fixing data manually, invoices get delayed, and reports don’t quite add up.
One thing I’ve learned is that it’s much easier to prevent bad data from entering the CRM than to clean it up later. We’ve used tools like LeadAngel and ZoomInfo to improve matching and reduce duplicates, but good integration design and data governance matter just as much.
I’d be interested to see if others have had the same experience or if invoicing is the bigger headache.
@SimranMakhija Your point about prevention being easier than cleanup is spot on. Tools like LeadAngel and ZoomInfo are fantastic for keeping the CRM clean, but as you noted, if the foundational integration rules and bi-directional sync triggers aren’t mapped perfectly, things still break down. Just curious - When you set up data governance rules, which platform do you usually treat as the ultimate “source of truth”? Does HubSpot remain the master record, or does the accounting system take precedence the second a deal is closed?
From what I’ve seen, the biggest challenge is maintaining consistent data between both systems over time. The initial integration is often the easy part, but keeping customers, invoices, payments, and product data synchronized without duplicates or conflicts is where many teams run into problems. Having clear ownership of which system is the source of truth can make a big difference.
@Emmytech Completely agree. Wanted to know have your explored any automation/tool for this integration and while doing so have you faced any challenges maintaining the data consistency?
