What makes a compelling blog post?

GOOD CONTENT

Offering content that is relevant to the reader.

Last Blog post i read was about Cyber security industry and marketing trends that exist in it.

I personally loved the blog, as it was short (compared to the new 50k word count on blogs), i never read any blog that has a very small scroll bar. i also had a blog post that ive been reading over a week now (written by Hubspot here , when blogs get long and big i personally prefer to look at them as a crash course, or research article of some sort.

Including existing marketing trends and creating a relatively short read will make for a compelling blog post.

A compelling blog post is able to bring fresh and relevant information about the subject, alongside with images and other media that keep the reader into consuming the flow of information.

The best part of a compelling blog post is that it captures the attention of the person who is scrolling. It engages them, and the feel compelled to lie it, share it or comment on it.

A compelling blog post provides relevant information and educates the reader.

A compelling blog post contains factual information relevant to the topic that encourages you to read the entire post, share it and comment on it.

A compelling blog post doesn’t only inform about a subject but provides latest trends and tips to kick-off your strategies or tactics in the relevant field, helps you find the best products, services or people to help you achieve your goals in that field.

The last blog i got to read thoroughly was The Social Media Rule of Thirds and 3 Best Practices for Social Media Management | Orbit Media Studios. It is about “the rule of thrids in social media marketing”. I wanted to read it to figure out how algorithms work on social media and also wanted to learn “basic” calendar planning. This blog gave me an idea or a “pattern” to use as to content marketing for a test brand that i launched. The quotes inside or testimonies sound very professional and experience adding value to the information I was trying to look for;

~" If you’re using social media as a dumping ground for links, you’re doing it wrong. There’s more to social media than promoting your content.

You’re missing out on the more social side of social media, like building your network and making friends. And your accounts won’t be much fun to follow."~

A compelling blog post provides answers to the questions your potential clients are searching for, and the information must be updated and accurate. It humanizes the company while providing helpful information and drives them to act on the call-to-action provided at the top and bottom of the post.

A compelling post is an informative, educational, and entertaining post to your audience.

For blog posts, it’s all about capturing your audience’s attention within the first paragraph. Whether it be somethign factual or something more on the creative side, engagement is important to get your blog post attention. For me personally, I like non-bias reviews and I can tell by the first paragraph if the product is either being reviewed fairly or if I can already tell it’s been judged biased. Take that into consideration when creating your own blog posts and see the difference!

Pretty much anything but writing about your products. A blog is not the time or place to promote your products. Write about a key trend in your industry, an unusual or special experience at work or w/ a client, etc. There are so many ideas!

If it’s timely, on subject, and tells a compelling story.

I think a good blog post is determined by whether it tells a story, is informative to readers, and whether it offers value. Sometimes, the value can be in the information in the post, and sometimes the narrative is what’s of value. One recent article I wrote for my company’s blog discusses how to help indoor farms survive hurricanes with two case studies in Puerto Rico. I think this article offers value (information) but also offers a narrative (the story of these companies surviving hurricanes).

For me, a good blog post should be unique. Last week I was doing some research and found several blogs that were nearly identical. Others were very dry. Just the facts ma’am. And that’s okay sometimes, but I don’t want to read them. Instead, I want to narrow down on just the facts I am looking for or a quote I can use. And it’s not that I don’t want to read. I actually do that a lot, but I really do not want to read the same information, with the same view, and often the same examples.

I beleive a useful content that is informative for the reader
