What content strategies work best for growing a niche gaming website?

I’m curious how others approach content marketing for a very specific niche rather than a broad website.

For example, a gaming site covering a single title or gaming community can create content around updates, guides, character information, troubleshooting, and frequently asked questions. I’ve been experimenting with this approach on a niche project, nullbrawlstars.com, where the focus is on creating useful resources rather than publishing general gaming news.

I’m particularly interested in how others would approach:

  • Building topical authority in a small niche
  • Finding content topics beyond basic keyword research
  • Creating content that actually answers user questions
  • Growing organic traffic without publishing dozens of low-value articles
  • Turning informational visitors into an engaged community

For those who have worked on niche websites, what content strategy has produced the best results for you?

This is a great topic since the gaming community can give alot of feedback! The best thing is getting as specific as you can - for gaming you need to have content that will get picked up in SEO or AEO whenever they search for the new meta - Youtube and video content in general has become a staple for any gaming org - discord is a great route to fostering an engaged community too

Hello @Huang158 ,

In a small niche, depth matters more than volume. I would start by listing the ten or so questions your audience asks most often, then make sure each has one page that answers it better than anything else online. A small set of thorough pages usually outperforms dozens of thin articles.

Keyword research only covers part of what people want to know. Reddit threads, Discord servers, YouTube comments and Google’s “People also ask” box show the questions people actually have, and your own site search and support messages are just as useful. If the same question appears three or four times, it deserves its own page.

Topical authority comes from how the content connects. Each guide should link to related guides, so that together they cover the subject from every angle. Readers and search engines both tend to trust a site that treats a topic in depth rather than touching on it once.

Keeping content current is also important, particularly for anything tied to updates or patches. Revise the existing page when something changes and show a “last updated” date. This is generally worth more than publishing something new.

To build a community, give readers a clear next step on your most helpful pages, such as a Discord server or a newsletter. People are far more willing to join once the site has already solved a problem for them.
