What are the minimum and maximum record ID lengths in HubSpot?

Hey Community,

as the record id is unique identifier and it is number.

  1. what would be min and maximum length of the record?
  2. will be it always positive?
  3. will start with zero?
  4. is there a possibility it will include other that numbers ?

Hi @ramkumar1021 and Happy Monday!

Great questions, thanks for asking the HubSpot Community!

When looking at the documentation, I couldn’t find an exact min/max digit length for Record IDs (hs_object_id), so I can’t give you precise bounds. However, based on the examples and behavior shown across the docs:

  • Type: Record IDs are returned as string values in JSON responses (e.g., "id": "33451"), even though they represent an internal numeric ID, so responses always wrap them in quotes.
  • Positivity: All example Record IDs shown are positive integers; there’s no mention of negative or zero values.
  • Leading zeros: I couldn’t find documentation where IDs can start with 0; examples always show ordinary positive integers without leading zeros.
  • Non-numeric characters: It’s not mentioned as possible, Record IDs in every example are purely numeric strings.

For a definitive min/max length or ID range guarantee, I wasn’t able to confirm this in the documentation, I’ll check internally to see if I can get additional information. In the meantime, you may want to treat it as an arbitrary-length numeric string rather than assume a fixed bit-width (e.g., 32-bit vs 64-bit).

Hey @Anton, @ArtyCele and @Indra do you have any insights to share with @ramkumar1021, please?
