Employee advocacy programs are powerful sources of word-of-mouth marketing. What are some methods that might encourage employees to use their own social channels to talk about the company?
Employees do advocate the social causes company contributes to along with unique achievements. When they feel proud of their contributions, they are more likely to share that information on their social media channels.

Having spent some time in the nonprofit marketing world, I can’t agree more. There was this attitude from the execs that all employees, especially those in marketing, should be advocates because we were working toward a cause we all cared about. All that ended up doing was making me hate using my personal social media; it was like I wasn’t allowed to separate my work and personal social channels. Employee advocacy can be amazing--but it HAS to be voluntary.

The biggest conundrum we face is how to get employees excited about this new concept. Realizing the talent of your employees will be your master trick. Keep your expectations limited and train every individual according to their talents. If you’re using an employee advocacy tool like People, organize training sessions for employees who want to participate. And if you work for a company that has thousands of employees, possibly hosting webinars monthly or quarterly, or multiple training opportunities. More importantly, explain to employees at any time that this participation is not only beneficial to the employees. company but also for their personal benefit (professional career development, thought leadership, etc.).
Yes true employee advocacy is an important source of marketing, with proper guidelines and information when employees use their social media platforms for sharing company content it gives then feeling that they are important part of company.
By giving them rewards and appreciation which can measure by sales and conversion encourage them to do so.
The employees really need to believe in the product/brand. Sharing swag with them to wear/display/use on social media would be a great way to get them fired up about it. Acknowledgement/praise for a job well done would boost their loyalty, as well.
We actually created an Employee advocacy program in our agency where we have a monthly Star and a Fossil. It’s simple, the employee with the highest engagement on our socials and our client’s socials wins a gift card. This encouraged our employees to engage with the company’s socials and go on our client’s socials and engage with them ( genuinely ). To make it easier for them, we compiled a list that had clickable links to all the socials we manage. This greatly increased engagement and provided a fun competitive atmosphere in the agency!
Employees need to be appreciated and recognized for all the work they are doing .
Employee should be having a team bonding time experience , certificates and grants recognizing their work and efforts for the company
Their must be employee buy in. Company culture is imperative to the end result. An employee who feels excluded from decisions will not market any product or brand.
employee advocacy can aslo help on building the friendship btn the worker and the company they work or advocate for coz of the bond they be sharing and created with the company.
To encourage the “spirit of sharing good” as a motto behind the employee advocacy program. This means it’s a way how employees or employees found something so good in their company culture that they can’t resist except to share on social media. This is about more than incentivizing, but tapping the “Feel Good” emotion inside every individual.
