In the process of moving our email marketing from Klaviyo to Hubspot.

I have our sign up forms on site (Shopify) submitting subscribed contacts to Hubspot, and they’re set as marketing contacts.

I then created an active segment called Marketing Contact, set up like this, which I plan to use to power the workflow:

**Marketing status** is any of **Marketing Contact**

I’ve created the workflow:

Trigger: **Has completed: Segment membership has changed - is added to Marketing Contact**

Followed by an email.

I then submitted a new email of mine through the sign up form on site, which successfully passed me through to Hubspot as a marketing contact, and then added me to the Marketing Contact segment.

However, this didn’t trigger the workflow to start or the email to send. What am I doing wrong here? It is, however, sending to other users that I didn’t expect.

Hi @abisecondshop,

I would recommend not setting it up this way - marketing contact status is a billing feature: [Set contacts as marketing](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/set-contacts-as-marketing)

If someone ever sets other contacts as marketing contacts, they would all enter your journey. Instead, you should reference the form submission directly - or any property that is exclusive to contacts submitting your Shopify form.

Once adjusted, if it’s not working, you can find initial troubleshooting here: [Test your workflow](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/test-your-workflow#test-records-against-workflow-enrollment-triggers)

Feel free to come back here if that doesn’t get you anywhere 🙂

Best regards

Thanks for your response! In the case that we do want it based on the marketing contact field, what’s my solution to getting this running?
