Website page is not allowing use of root domain

Hello, wondering if anyone can help/has had the same issue.

I only have one page on my website. When it was published on the Hubspot domain, it published with a [hubspotdomain]/home.

Now that I’ve connected my own domain, it won’t let me publish just as [domain.com]. It only works if i have [domain.com]/home which is not ideal. Does anyone know how to change this? I’m on the free plan, so cannot even redirect.

Hi @ARoslan,

If you go directly to your page Under Conent > Website pages, open the webiste editor and then go to Settings > General, you should be able to edit the Page URL. When you click edit (little pencil button) you should get this message:

Simply remove the “home” from the URL, save the page and hit Update in the top right corner.

Even for free accounts HubSpot will add a permanent redirect from /home to the root domain.

Hope that works,

Hey, thanks Goran!

I had tried that. Interestingly, the content slug is empty in that field - but when I see the link on the list of website pages, it still has the /home appended. Happy to try any other suggestions?

Hey @ARoslan,

From what you are saying it sounds like some sort of a bug. Perhaps reach out to support if available.

I have my personal site on the free tier as well. My setup is www.domain.com and then I have a redirect domain from domian.com to www.domain.com

Perhaps try something like that, using the domain redirect? Not sure it will help you much.

Sorry I can’t help more.

We had a similar post to this previously and it turned out thier blog was using the home url.
When you go to yourdomain.com in browser, what shows up?
