We’ve encountered issues with Webhooks inside of Deal Workflows.

These are breaking regularly with the following error message: “The webhook server didn’t execute the request”

The History logs show that the workflow started, then hit the error, then completed.

How can we fix this?

Welcome, @LukeBabich.

Happy to help. To troubleshoot effectively, though, I’ll need to know which deal workflows are encountering issues. Could you please provide links to those history pages?

Hey, @LukeBabich.

Thanks for your patience while I investigated your issue. I think I’m onto something.

Do you have any validation rules in place at that webhook URL related to the [`listing_address`](https://app.hubspot.com/property-settings/3298701/deal/listing_address) deal property? The `500` errors your service returns cite this property.

Additionally, I looked into a few deals which successfully POSTed to your webhook URL through [this workflow](https://app.hubspot.com/workflows/3298701/platform/flow/1482438/history) and compared them to failed POSTs:

- [This successful deal](https://app.hubspot.com/contacts/3298701/deal/527305334/properties?eschref=%2Fcontacts%2F3298701%2Fdeal%2F527305334%3Finteraction%3Dnote&esclabel=Back%20to%20deal%20record) had its `listing_address` property set at **1550084761530** and the workflow’s webhook successfully executed at **1550084767711**.
- [This failed deal](https://app.hubspot.com/contacts/3298701/deal/525526868/properties?search=listing_address), however, never had its `listing_address` set.
- Similarly, [this successful deal](https://app.hubspot.com/contacts/3298701/deal/524859107?interaction=note) had its `listing_address` set at **1550078480890** and the workflow’s webhook successfully executed at **1550078485887**.
- [This failed deal](https://app.hubspot.com/contacts/3298701/deal/525214642/properties?search=listing+address), on the other hand, never had a `listing_address` value.

I think this behavior is too consistent to be a coincidence. If you ensure that deal’s don’t go through [this workflow](https://app.hubspot.com/workflows/3298701/platform/flow/1482438/edit) unless they have a known value for [this property](https://app.hubspot.com/property-settings/3298701/deal/listing_address), then I think you’ll see the workflow errors diminish.
