We created a form to allow new customers to share their basic information with us. We created a number of new fields that are required by our ERP. We want to capture this information into hubspot, but dont see how to add these custom field values to our company view.
Any help?
Hi @DGrimes,
All views in HubSpot only show the information of the object you’re looking at: In contact views you can only see contact properties, on company views only company properties and so on. If you’ve created a form field, that property exists on the contact level. That’s why it doesn’t show in company views.
With HubSpot workflows, you can copy contact information into company fields. If you have a Professional or Enterprise subscription (which is needed for workflows), let me know, I’ll happily outline the steps.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the prompt response.
We have Sales Professional and Marketing Starter.
In looking at the custom fields we added they were all added as CONTACT
fields, but when we view the customer we do not see those fields. Hope this narrows the solution.
Hi @DGrimes,
Then you should be able to create the following contact-based workflow. (This is all happening inside of HubSpot and not taking into account any integration with an ERP. We’re just making contact information available on the company record.)
In my example, I’m copying the contact property Company name into the company property Name. Before I do that, in the enrollment criteria, I’m checking whether the target field is empty (= unknown) and I’m only enrolling contacts who have a value (= known).
The next and only step is then to copy the property value from the contact field into the company field. (If that company property does not exist yet, then you have to create it first.)
As an additional or alternative enrollment criterion, you could select that only contacts should enrolled who have filled out the form you’ve mentioned.
Best regards!
