Hello HubSpot Community members !

As we all know, HubSpot recently released a product update allowing us to add additional “Lead pipelines” to the LEADS object. This is great BUT… how can I control in which leads pipeline a new leads record will be created when my contact record reaches the MQL lifecycle (LC) stage? As of now, only the default leads pipeline labeled “Lead pipeline” proposes a switch to automatically “Create a new lead” when a contact moves to a specific LC stage.
**Here is the option I thought I could go with… please share your thoughts and ideas…**
1) Turn the [Automate - Create a new lead when…] configuration switch OFF on the default “Lead pipeline”

2) Build a Workflow that, based on some business rules, will look for Contact records that have recently reached the MQL LC stage **AND** for which no lead records have been added yet (since the contact record reached the MQL LC stage). When a match is found (_contact record enrolled in the WF_), based on some business rules to determine the business context, create a new LEADS record in the appropriate “pipeline”.
Would that be the right way to manage it?
Other ideas?

Hi @JPaquette8! Welcome to the Community-- happy to have you here 😊

You are correct that even with the Multilpe Lead Pipelines beta, it is only possible to configure the global lead creation settings in the default pipeline. This workflow workaround sounds like just what you are looking for.

Let’s invite some of our experts to see if they have any other suggestions. @Jnix284, @TomM2, or @karstenkoehler do y’all agree with this workaround or would you advise any other processes? Thanks!
Best,
Kennedy
