Using connected Gmail account on Outlook with Hubspot CRM

Hello,

I am using Outlook to send/receive my gmail. My goal is to (a) track messages/replies that I send from that account (b) add incoming senders to Hubspot contacts.

I have connected my Gmail account to Hubspot (CRM) and I have enabled inbox automation. Do I still need to install the Outlook plug-in or is it sufficient that Gmail is connected to Hubspot?

Thanks

Chris

Hi @chris305,

I believe you should be all set based on your described configuration. There is a related post to your’s that provide some additional context and instruction that you may find helpful. See here.

Hello and thanks for the reply.

The thread you shared does imply that connecting Hubspot to Gmail is sufficient (it is either this or “alternatively” download the Outlook plug-in)

Unfortunately, incoming email senders don’t make it into my contacts, nor do I see any data that indicate that Hubspot is “listening” to my Gmail account. So something is off.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Thanks!

I’d suggest going through the steps of connecting your Outlook inbox and seeing if that changes anything.

Hello and thanks for the replies.

I am not sure I full understand the setup.

  • Initially I connected my Gmail under Settings > General > Email. This didn’t do anything.
  • Then I went under Conversations > Inbox and connected my Gmail there. After this, incoming messages show up in Hubspot and the senders are added in the contacts. Also, Gmail has disappeared from Settings > General > Email

Is this how it is supposed to be?
