Under Settings > Users & Teams there used to be a column displaying the status as “active” or “deactivated”. How do I bring this back!!! I need a quick way to see who is active or not and the filter option only shows “deactivated.”

If you filter by ‘Invite Accepted’ that should give you all your activie users. You can also filter by ‘last active’ to see users who have logged in within a specific time period and that would help to identify active users too.
