User unable to see data in Salesforce Hubspot Embed

I configured the Hubspot embed windows in Salesforce, as an admin I can use and see the Hubspot UI via the Visualforce page. My end users get the following error “Insufficient Privilges.” The following link outlines the following requirements:

  • The HubSpot-Salesforce integration must be installed.
  • To install and ensure of automatic updates for the HubSpot Visualforce window, Salesforce users need the Customize Application profile permission.
  • To use the HubSpot Visualforce window, Salesforce users must have user profile administrative permissions.
  • To view data in the HubSpot Visualforce window on Salesforce lead and/or contact records, Salesforce users must have the Modify Metadata permission. This is only required if you want to use the Visualforce window, and sync deals to HubSpot.
  • To view the HubSpot Embed window on a Salesforce record, Salesforce users must also be a user in HubSpot and logged in to the latter system. Users will need the View records permissions in HubSpot.
  • To display information on a Salesforce account or opportunity record, the account/opportunity must be syncing with a respective HubSpot company/deal, and that company/deal must have an associated, syncing contact.

What is the specific user profile permissions that need to be updated so that users other than admins can see the Hubspot UI via the embed window?

Hi @DHernandez18 !
Thanks for the provided details on your request!
I had these issue before with giving some team member access to manage third party integrations, I’d say that mainly account permissions like “App Marketplace Access” and “Asset Marketplace Access” would will necessary.
I’ll share also documentation related to users permissions in HubSpot, so you can give it a quick look and determine if there’s any additional permission that would make sense to grant, but will for sure recommend looking at the Account section of the article.
Hope this helps!

Hi Carolina, I appreciate your reply but I don’t think this actually solves my problem. My question is, what user profile permission in salesforce user profile are necessary to view the Hubspot Salesforce Embed Window

@DHernandez18 apologies for the confusion! I found a similar post from another user in the community that has a solution that might help: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Marketing-Integrations/Salesforce-permissions-to-view-Visualforce-window/m-p/944011

other than that I would reach out directly to Salesforce support to get an accurate answer.

That was it! Thank you Carolina!

Hi @DHernandez18,

You should be all set by updating the user as shown below: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/user-management/hubspot-user-permissions-guide?hubs_content=knowledge.hubspot.com/salesforce/add-the-hubspot-visualforce-window-to-your-salesforce-page-layouts&hubs_content-cta=View%20records%C2%A0permissions#object-access

That should do it.

Wide-reaching permissions like app and asset marketplace permissions (which would allow any Salesforce user to install any marketplace app in HubSpot) should not be needed.

Best regards!

Users have access to CRM Objects already, I am more so thinking this may be an issue in the Salesforce User Profile.
