This HubSpot Ideas channel topic is aging well. SEVEN YEARS +! Marked “reviewing” by someone at HubSpot sometime after the idea was first posted in 2017. They seem willing to default to a notion activity timestamps and property history using the time zone set on a user’s device fills the bill. It does not. Instead we’re forced to default to the “account” time zone which has been a big issue for us.
It’s apparent to those of us who have stated a legitimate need, they place little importance in it and we should expect no change in the future. If someone comes back to me and says “It’s coming…, but will only be available in Enterprise” Or, worse yet, require purchase of a geo-specific user license adder fee.
@MStreib I totally agree. If Hubspot wants to be a series company that works with global businesses, this is a pretty basic requirement. It is unbelievable that this has been open for over seven years, and Hubspot, other than changing its status, has done practically nothing.
We are based in New Zealand and have a UK team who are on the complete opposite time zone as us (when it’s our morning it’s their night and vice versa). We don’t want our automated sequences for that region to be going out during our day time when it would be midnight or 2am over there. At the moment I have those sequences set as 9pm-midnight which is 9am-midday in their time zone. Ideally it would be good if they could go anytime during their workday but I don’t have the ability to set it to 9pm-5am which is their 9-5 business hours. If the sequences could just send based on the senders time zone then we could just have them all set as 9-5 and it can do it’s thing and choose the best time but based on that user’s time zone rather than the account default.
We also had issues when our new Australian sales rep started where her meetings were displaying the wrong time for her because it was showing our NZ time zone. The scheduling tool was showing the correct time zone, but her notifications and such were all wrong leading her to miss a meeting.

We have 100+ reps across multiple countries, and HubSpot’s single portal time zone is already causing operational errors in list views, tasks, deals, and activity filtering. Reps are acting on inaccurate date data because everything reflects the portal time zone instead of their local time. This is no longer a minor inconvenience. It is impacting execution, response timing, and data integrity across regions.
We are about to 2x headcount, which means this issue get worse if not addressed. It is genuinely concerning to see requests and feedback about this limitation dating back years with no resolution. That raises serious questions for us about how long we can continue scaling on HubSpot without this being addressed.
