Although i’ve seen posts that are somewhat similar to this need, i haven’t seen this exactly.
Background: 11 year Hubspot user and admin, Professional Subscription across all hubs.
Use case:
We attend multiple marketing events and when we import the spreadsheet of contacts and associated lead meta data (product interest, notes, etc), we have a workflow that creates lead objects, associations etc. In the spreadsheet we include the internal ID of the marketing event, and the campaign, for use as needed (like creating object associations).
We want to in the same workflow, Add the participant to a marketing event, and not have to make a separate workflow for each and every event. We have the marketing event ID, but you currently cannot dynamically use the Marketing Event ID or anything else, in the workflow achieve what the step below (event name partially redacted for privacy) achieves. It’s our understanding and experience that creating an “association” from the contact to the marketing event object does not achieve the same result as actually adding them as a participant.
Our current workaround is that when we run the import of the contacts, we then go to Marketing Events, and run an import of the same spreadsheet, which we include an “Attended On” date field in, to associate them as attending the event. We tell it to not update any other fields that we already updated or imported and just get them marked as participating.
So this works, but it’s annoying and waste of time for someone to have to remember it when workflows are so powerful.
Look if someone knows a solution I/we haven’t found, would love to hear it! If not this feels like a “gap” that HubSpot ought to address as a feature and I"d appreciate your upvote and comment!
