We have a workflow that is copying contact properties to a custom object. Is there a way for the workflow to update either of the following Hubspot fields?

Created by user ID

Updated by user ID

Thanks,

Terry McMillan

Hi, @tmcmillan99 I did a quick search on both of these properties for the Contact object and my custom object —Boats. Both _Created by user ID_ and _Updated by user ID_ are set as read-only. There isn’t a way to override this behaviour for properties used by the system. It’s likely the answer you don’t want, and I don’t want to have you looking for an option that doesn’t exist.

Example from the Properties API endpoint — [Read a property](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/crm/properties).

**GET** `/crm/v3/properties/{objectType}/{propertyName}`

Request:

```lia-code-sample
curl --request GET \
 --url 'https://api.hubapi.com/crm/v3/properties/2-7913954/hs_updated_by_user_id?archived=false' \
 --header 'authorization: Bearer YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN'
```

Response:

```lia-code-sample
HTTP 200
