Unsubscribed or no GDPR-compliant legal basis

Hi,

I’m getting this error when my users submit this form. For some wierd reason, emails are not being sent.

I assume its a configuration issue on my end, but I have no idea how to fix it. Any advice?

Hi @AMalagarriga,

It doesn’t look like the contact unsubscribed on their own (see “Communication subscriptions” in the left sidebar, this dot would be red, not gray, if they had).

Instead, it seems like the “Legal basis required” checkbox is enabled in the GDPR settings, see here: Manage data privacy settings in your HubSpot account

This means that each contact must have an opt-in for the subscription type you chose in the options tab of the marketing email editor.

For example:

  • Your marketing email has the subscription type “Marketing information”
  • The contact must have an opt-in for the subscription type “Marketing information”

If not, HubSpot will hold the email back.
