Hi There,

We are trying to implement HubSpot and require to use unique identifiers from the source system to access HubSpot users. We have been informed that the HubSpot API required the email adress as unique identifier to access that information in HubSpot.

Is email the unique identifier for HubSpot users?

Is there another identifier that is available for use in the API?

Hi @Myoucanseeme,

When you say users, are you referring to business contacts or actual users who are using the functionalities in your HubSpot portal?

Assuming it’s the first, each contact gets a _Contact ID_. This, like the _Email_, is a default contact property that can not be edited, is unique in your portal and is assigned when a record is created.

Hope this helps!

I was referring to the actual user.

Hi @Myoucanseeme,

For users, there is a user ID, see also [here](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/APIs-Integrations/Where-I-can-find-team-member-user-ID/td-p/287389). You can access this ID via the owners API endpoint: [https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/owners/get\_owners](https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/owners/get_owners)

Best regards!
