Unable to start HubSpot Academy Social Media Certification Exam

Hi everyone,

Looks like there are a lot of others with the issue I’m having. I’m having an issue with the HubSpot Academy Social Media Certification Exam.

On the exam page, the Start exam button appears active/clickable, but when I click it, nothing happens. There’s no visible error message, and the exam never starts.

I checked my browser console and I’m seeing:

  • repeated 404 errors for requests like
    /api/academy/learning-center/progress/v1/exam…
  • an Unhandled Promise Rejection: ApolloError

So it looks like the page is trying to load exam/progress data, but that request is failing.

I’ve already tried:

  • refreshing the page
  • incognito/private window
  • a different browser
  • disabling extensions
  • logging out and back in

Has anyone else seen this, or is this a known issue with the Social Media Certification exam?
