Unable to See Default Pipeline, or Last-Used Pipeline, in "Deals"

I am a Starter user and just added a new “2026 Deals” pipeline.

(Apparently I am limited to two piplines. I am keeping the old, “2025 Deals” pipeline for reference.)

The problem is that whenever I open Deals, the default Pipeline selected is the old, 2025 Deals one. Every time, I have to click on the dropdown and select the new pipeline to see its deals.

Trying to resolve this, I have failed four ways:

  • Hubspot’s AI assistant says the Deals page should default to the last-viewed pipeline. Unforunately, this is not true.
  • I have tried re-ordering the pipelines on the pipeline set-up page. No effect.
  • I have also tried renaming the pipelines to see if I could change their order in the drop-down. No effect.
  • I have tried saving the URL of one pipeline vs. the other. No effect, because the URL is the same for both.

Does anyone have a hack, tip or workaround? This seems like such an obvious need. Why should Hubspot’s interface choose which pipeline to show me every time I enter “Deals” ?

Thanks!

Hi @GRichards4,

Try reordering the pipelines under Settings → Objects → Deals → Pipelines:

That should do the trick.

Best regards

Hi Karsten,

As noted in my post,

  • I have tried re-ordering the pipelines on the pipeline set-up page. No effect.

Re-ordering them DOES change their position within the pipelines drop-down. However, whenever I open the Deals page, it continues to default to the OLD pipeline, even though it is 2nd on the dropdown list. This is true even after exiting Hubspot and re-entering.

Other thoughts? Thanks.

@GRichards4 have you tried clearing cache/cookies? The combination of re-ordering + refreshing the page works for me. When navigating to the deal page, it does show the last opened.

Hi Karsten,

Tried that too. In fact, I opened and logged into Hubspot on two browsers I had never used it in before (MS Edge and Firefox). Both defaulted to the “old” Deals view, even though Settings showed the “new” view as first in order. In both, when viewing the “new” deals view, if I were to refresh the page, it then displayed the “old” view (as the default) again. Very frustrating!!

I am experiencing the same issue!

Hey @GRichards4 - thanks so much for posting in the Community!
I was able to find this Community post, which points out that it’s not currently possible to update the default pipeline when creating new deals. With that said, I’ve tested this in my own portal, and I did find the following:
-Go to your Deals page in your portal > select the Pipelines dropdown > click “Edit Pipelines” > click “Actions” from the top righthand corner > click “Reorder Pipelines.” From here, you can click and drag the order of which your pipelines appear.
I hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip. Per my reply to Karsten, I noted in my post that I had already tried this, and while it DID change the order of the pipelines in the drop-down, the Deals page keeps selecting by default the “old” one (now second-down in the dropdown order). Baffling!
