Hi!

I’m having a weird problem. I use a Chrome extension to capture and annotate screen portions called Fusebase. I’ve been using it for years with no hiccups to copy and paste images in HS notes, tickets, emails, etc… Recently, I’m unable to paste images anywhere HS related, not even in this community **Create post** form.

When I try to paste via CTRL-V in a HS Note, I don’t get any error but a broken image link appears:

 ![image 1.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/2X/5/53bd421bb1ae7d6f2e3ee16aad52ead96be6ede6.png)
Interestingly, the Chrome dev console shows a couple of errors:

 ![JayF_3-1736350095602.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/6/7/679033c4fa8e1144d7960ec4b5512022473d9506.png)

When I try to paste the same image via CTRL-V in the community **Create post** form, I get an error that says: **Image upload failed. Try uploading a different image or from some other source.**

 ![image 2.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/e/1/e12715dd2822619c1287954e4da8f17bbbcb85e6.png)

Again, the Chrome dev console shows three errors:

 ![JayF_5-1736350279950.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/1/1/11d43e78778ed265796f05cfff67604cbc43d60e.png)

All of them are throwing the **Referrer Policy: strict-origin-when-cross-origin** error.

I’m totally baffled as I can paste the same image everywhere else (Google Chat, Google Docs, Slack, Stripe, etc…) except on any HubSpot tool.

This has started happening recently, I can’t pinpoint an exact date but in the last month.

Can you please advise?

Hi @JayF! Welcome to the Community-- happy to have you here 😊

I apologize for any frustration you have experienced with this. There are a few questions that could help with troubleshooting:

- Do you have this same issue in multiple browsers? You may want to try pasting the image into HubSpot from another browser or a private browsing window.
- Do you know what file type the images are when they come from Fusebase?
- Do you notice any difference if you paste with CTRL+Shift+V?

_Best,_

Kennedy

Interesting @JayF! This might imply an issue with the browser or security on your Chromebook. Have you attempted to reach out to the Fusebase team to see if they have any other Chromebook users experiencing this issue?

Hi Kennedy!

I work with a Chromebook, so the only available browser to me is Chrome. I’m using Version 131.0.6778.96 (Official Build) (64-bit), which I believe is the latest for my HP Dragonfly Pro.

I’ll try to find if the behaviour is the same in other browsers with the help of my colleagues and report back.

I’m not sure about the image type, but according to the Chrome dev tool screenshots, it looks like they’re blobs.

When I do CTRL-SHIFT-V, an image is not pasted but the following text is:

`<img src="blob:chrome-extension://fddbloohgcjopkmnjdeodjcfbgiimpcn/553ed52e-6f15-46bc-9cd2-3ba2befd0759"/>`

fddbloohgcjopkmnjdeodjcfbgiimpcn: this is the Fusebase Chrome extension id

553ed52e-6f15-46bc-9cd2-3ba2befd0759: this appears to the captured image temporary id

I’ll try with other browsers and get back to you.

Thanks for your help and Happy New Year!!

More info:

1. Capture image with extension and annotate
2. Copy and paste image here → error 😭
3. Copy and paste any other image → works! 😄

Find a video attached that shows the whole process along with the Chrome dev tools errors. The only bits that are not shown are the right click menu and **Copy image** due to recording tool limitations.

Hey @JayF Thanks for the additional context! Were you able to test with any other browsers? Do any other people on your team who use this tool experience this issue as well?

More tests:

- My Chromebook in a Chrome 132 incognito window: does not work

- Mac 12.1 Monterey with Chrome 132 regular/incognito: works!
