When I attempt to connect my email, I get the message “Unable to create an inbox for this user.”
I’ve reviewed the page Troubleshoot errors when connecting an inbox with IMAP and SMTP but it doesn’t list that error.
Is that Hubspot attempting to do something on my mail server, or hubspot creating a local inbox within its own systems?
What can I do to debug?

We usually see this error when HubSpot is unable to connect to the corresponding server on the given port. This could be because the server host name is incorrect and/or the port is incorrect.
Could you please disconnect your inbox, log out of HubSpot, clear your browser’s cache and then please try to connect your inbox again by following these instructions (via “Advanced options”)? Thank you!
Please ensure that your IMAP & SMTP information is correct when inputting your credentials. You can find instructions how to check them in this help article. Most but not all IMAP ports should be 143 or 993 and most SMTP ports should be 465 or 587.
If you’re unsure about the ports or how to locate them, I would recommend connecting with your IT Team to get the pertinent information.

I got the same error and the IMAP credentials with our Pair.com emails is accurate. I’ve been trying to connect using an incognito window, but it’s just spinning endlessly trying to set it up. Please help!

I see you’re still hitting the ‘Unable to create an inbox’ error. Since the incognito window didn’t do the trick, have you had a chance to test the specific ‘Ports’ mentioned in Kristen’s post above as well?
Additionally, if the suggested ports don’t resolve the issue and you’ve already verified the correct ports with your IT team, then I’d recommend reaching out to our Support Team directly.
