I have had all the permissions and access to add campaigns to posts, but this week I am unable to access them. When I go to drop down the menu to add it, I see nothing, and am also unable to add retrospectively after I post.
To help you out, I’ll go ahead and tag a few community experts here:
Hi @danmoyle@Karushna1@RidhiSharma2000 hope you’re having a great week! Could you help us out here?
For the benefit of the whole community, we would love to read your insights or ideas around this specific issue posted here. Public replies are what help this community grow!
Hi @SamBFx. This sounds like a bug, unless your HubSpot admin changed your permissions and did not let you know. If it were me, and it hadn’t resolved itself by today, I would run through these in order to rule out the usual culprits before escalating to HubSpot Support (because that’s where I’d go next):
Confirm you’re in the right portal and environment: Make sure you’re not in a sandbox or different account where your role/seat is more restricted.
Check subscription and seat status: Verify your user still has a paid Marketing seat (if applicable) and hasn’t been downgraded to a more limited role (e.g., draft-only social).
Re-save your permissions (or ask your admin to do this): Have a super admin open Settings → Users & Teams → your user. Toggle OFF and then ON again: Marketing access, Campaigns, and Social publishing permissions, then Save. Log out/in again and test the campaign dropdown on a new social post.
Try alternate paths to associate: Attempt to associate from the Campaigns tool: Marketing → Campaigns → open a campaign → Actions → Add assets → Social posts and see if social posts even appear as an asset type/are selectable. If social posts are missing there as well, that strongly suggests a systemic issue, not just the composer UI.
Test another user: If possible, log in as another user (ro screenshare with someone as they do this) with full marketing + social permissions and see if they also get an empty campaign dropdown. If they do, it’s almost certainly a portal-wide defect.
Here’s why I think it’s likely not “just” permissions. You previously could associate campaigns to social posts and nothing significant changed on your machine or browser, which rules out most client-side issues. HubSpot has been actively updating Campaigns (including asset handling and permissions), so regressions around what asset types show in association UIs are plausible.
From there, if that all checks out, I’d open a HubSpot support ticket so you can give full context to them and they can work on it. I usually tell folks to call in and talk to a person, but I think in this case a full Ticket is better. From your portal: Help → Contact Support → describe as “Campaign dropdown is empty for social posts; worked previously; permissions confirmed; affects [one user / all users].” And again, be sur eto include steps to reproduce and your screenshots.
It seems like the option to add campaigns isn’t showing even though you have the right permissions. Try restarting your browser or app, clearing the cache, or using a different browser or device. Also make sure your ad account and post are active. If it still doesn’t work, reach out to support with a screenshot so they can help sort it out.
