Hi everyone, I hope it’s okay to ask for a bit of help here! I’m working on setting up my startup and having some trouble with tracking visitors on my Squarespace website.

I’m using a code I created with GPT to track visitors and form submissions, but it keeps counting me as a visitor even when I’m logged in as the admin. I’ve tried blocking my IPv4, IPv6, and myself as a HubSpot and Squarespace admin. It seemed to work at first, but the next day it started tracking me again.

After some digging, I realised my IPv6 changes daily (noticed in HubSpot settings under the tracking section), so I added the new IPv6 to the “don’t track” box. The code seems to be working in the Squarespace site (I checked via the console), but occasionally it starts tracking me again.

Does anyone know if I need to manually update the new IPv6 daily in HubSpot, or is there a better way to stop tracking myself while working on my embedded forms? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! @ScottPennwood

It sounds like you have a Dynamic IP! This is very common, especially if you’re working from home.

You can contact your ISP to request a Static IP which will help with this. Many business providers provide Static IPs as default, though it’s worth checking. Some ISPs charge a fee to assign you a Static IP, some don’t.

It’s also possible to achieve the same results by deploying a business VPN. However as you’ve said you’re in the process of setting up your startup, you’ll potentially not be at this stage yet.
Otherwise yes, if your IP keeps changing I’m afraid your stuck with updating your IP daily! Here’s more information --> Exclude traffic from your site analytics
