Hi there,
I’d like to discuss a potential enhancement for inventory and sales forecasting in HubSpot. Currently, I’m facing a challenge connecting Deals → Products → Line Items in a way that allows accurate tracking of stock levels.
Use Case:
- We have a catalog of products with stock levels.
- Deals are created, and line items are associated to specify the quantity of each product.
- We want stock levels to automatically update as deals progress (e.g., when deals are closed won) so we can forecast product availability and avoid overcommitting inventory.
Current Challenges:
- Updating the stock level in the product library doesn’t reflect on existing line items - each line item on each deal must be updated manually.
- Stock isn’t automatically decremented when a line item is added to a deal.
- Reporting on product availability versus committed deals requires manual tracking.
- Forecasting based on inventory is unreliable without this connection.
Proposed Idea / Enhancement:
- Introduce native stock management linked to line items, products, and deals.
- Updating the stock level in the product library should automatically reflect on all associated line items.
- When a deal moves to closed won, the system should automatically reduce the stock by the quantity in the line items and update the product library.
I think this feature would benefit many HubSpot users who manage both CRM and inventory within HubSpot and want better forecasting and reporting.
