Tracking Pages on a WordPress Site Connected to HubSpot

Problem Description:
On the page https://creafree.org/support/second-download-our-google-doc-template/
We need to measure how many visitors have clicked on the ‘click here to download the form’ link. After several unsuccessful exchanges with customer support, we were advised to post a message on the forum.

Steps Taken to Try to Resolve the Issue:

  1. We have installed the HubSpot plugin for WordPress and connected our account.
  2. We have connected the domain creafree.org to HubSpot, and it appears properly connected in Settings > Website > Domains and URLs.
  3. We have searched for a solution on how to track specific URLs but have not found any results.

Does anyone have a solution to suggest?
Thanks !

Hi @PUrban

Are you aware that your website isn’t loading?

HubSpot will only track known contacts btw. if you want to track unknown visitors interactions you need work with GTM and tracking events.

Frank

Following the DNS redirection, we lost the SSL certificate. We will address this issue. Thank you for your alert and your response @franksteiner79

Hey @PUrban just to clarify, you do not need to connect your domain to HubSpot unless you wish to display HubSpot hosted content on your domain. If you’re hosting this on wordpress you should not point the domain to HubSpot as it will stop wordpress working.

There are two tools for tracking specific links in HubSpot.

CTAS and Tracking URLs.

However, CTAs is only available within HubSpot starter and tracking urls are only available on professional. At the moment there is no specific link click tracking tool within the free version of HubSpot.

Hi @PUrban ,
I believe @TomM2 solved this for you. Adding a CTA through Hubspot as the linked text or Tracking URLs would allow for you to get contact analytics for who clicked to download the form.

Your response has greatly improved my understanding of the steps required to meet our needs. Thank you very much for your invaluable assistance, Tom!
